Dr. Daniel D. Bortolotti is a 1989 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He has been practicing in the metropolitan Detroit area since his graduation. Dr. Bortolotti is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Macomb Dental Society.

On a year to year basis, Dr. Bortolotti attends multiple courses in continuing education. These courses are both held locally and nationally. Dr. Bortolotti is an attendee of the prestigious LVI (Las Vegas Institute) of Aesthetic Dentistry.

He has also attended numerous courses of Dr. Bill Dorfman, famous from ABC television’s Extreme Makeover show. He is also Invisalign certified for orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Bortolotti was requested to return to the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School where he taught part-time as a clinical & pediatric instructor.

Dr. Bortolotti is constantly striving to bring the most current treatment modalities to his patients and staff.

The artistry of dentistry is a constant source of fascination and satisfaction for Dr. Johnson. "In a lot of areas of medicine there is a disconnect – you can’t see hypertension, for example," she said. "In dentistry, there is a direct tie between what the patient knows and how the patient feels. If their tooth hurts, I can make it better. If their tooth is chipped, I can make it pretty. There’s a real chance to talk to people in concrete terms about what it is that makes them happy — and then deliver in concrete terms. There is always a way to improve your smile and when you are happy with your smile, it changes your whole life."

A graduate of North Farmington High School, Dr. Johnson received her BS in Chemistry with a Molecular Biology focus from Florida A&M University and her DDS from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She completed a two-year General Practice Residency working with an under-served population at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York City, which inspired her ongoing lessons in Spanish.

Dr. Johnson’s practice includes all aspects of general dentistry, including implant restoration, cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign orthodontics. After most recently practicing in Woodhaven, she is enjoying getting to know Franklin. "It's such a close-knit community, and we are such a close-knit team on the staff,” she said. “We try to make it really inviting and comfortable for everyone coming in."

Dr. John Hwang completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from Michigan State University. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

Dr. Hwang is dedicated to providing excellent and personalized dental care treatment for each individual needs in a gentle and friendly manner to help his patient achieve a healthy and beautiful smile.

To give the best optimal results to patients, Dr. Hwang is committed to learning new techniques and using latest products/equipments to provide state-of-the-art dental care.

Dr. Shagun Octain attended the University of Detroit Mercy where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013. Since then she has taken many continuing dental education courses to be able to provide the best care for her patients. "Dentistry is an art and science. I love being able to help my patients smile with more confidence while also helping them get healthier by correcting dental problems."

In her time outside of the office, Dr. Octain enjoys reading books and learning how to do new things. She is an avid traveler who enjoys finding the beauty in the world and people wherever she is.
